Biography
Anya Johanna DeNiro received a B.A. in English from the College of Wooster, and an MFA in poetry writing from the University of Virginia. She is the author of a novel, numerous pieces of short fiction, two collections, two poetry chapbooks, essays, reviews, and a 165-page poem, The Stations, which is available for free on the Internet under a Creative Commons license.
Her short fiction has appeared in Asimov’s, One Story, Strange Horizons, Persistent Visions and elsewhere, and she’s been a finalist for the Theodore Sturgeon Award. She currently lives in Minnesota and writes YA novels about the adventures of trans women. Some of her earlier fiction was published under the name Alan DeNiro.
