Biography
Brendan Deneen started his career at the William Morris Agency as an assistant to legendary literary agent Owen Laster. From there, Deneen took on a position as Story Editor at Scott Rudin Productions where he worked for two years. He then became a Director of Production & Development at Miramax Films/Dimension Films for four years. Afterwards Deneen became a literary and film agent, closing dozens of publishing and film/TV deals for authors, screenwriters and graphic novelists. In early 2010, he joined Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin's Press as an Editor, where he acquired the WALKING DEAD novels among many others. In late 2013, Deneen became the Executive Editor of the newly-formed Macmillan Entertainment, where he continues to edit books and sell film and TV rights to movie studios and television networks.
Deneen is the award-winning author of The Ninth Circle, as well as the graphic novels Scatterbrain, Flash Gordon: The Mercy Wars, and The Island of Misfit Toys. He is also the author of the bestselling picture book Night Night, Groot. Deneen lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughters.
