Amanda Hemingway also writes under the pen name of Jan Siegel
Amanda Hemingway is a British author of fantasy novels, best known for the Fern Capel series. The daughter of architect George Askew and Mavis Gold, Amanda grew up in Lewes where her father was mayor for a time. She became Amanda Hemingway on marriage to Martin Hemingway in 1977. That marriage later dissolved in 1981.
