Biography
Todd Sanders grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh and earned a degree in Architecture (with a minor in Poetry) from Carnegie Mellon University. After being laid off from his job as an architectural designer, he began doing freelance graphic design and eventually board game design; he is known especially for Print-and-Play game designs and redesigns of older games from the early 1980s.
Sanders started Air and Nothingness Press in 2001 when he first started making artist books and publishing his own poetry; the small press specializes in limited editions of letterpress and handmade books. He has translated 5 books of surrealist poetry despite never formally learning French, and has published three books of his own poetry as well as the work of numerous other authors.
Sanders lives in Pittsburgh in a small house with a big garden, and enjoys woodworking and furniture making, cooking, creating art, and listening to music.
