Location: Irving, TX | In the absence of a forum calendar, I'm temporarily listing convention dates here. There are some cons here that do not host awards, but have some other appealing aspect to them. Award ceremony conventions will be listed in bold: ReaderCon Boston, MA July 5-8 Check this out. It's a symposium. (Rico like) http://readercon.org/ Campbell Conference Lawrence, Kansas, USA July 6-8, 2007 Campbell Award Banquet North American Science Fiction Convention St. Louis, MO, USA August 2-5, 2008 Held whenever WorldCon is abroad
WorldCon Yokohama, Japan August 30 - September 3, 2007 Hugo Award Ceremony (Oh, man, I wish we could go!) World Fantasy Convention Saratoga, NY, USA November 1-4, 2007 WFA Award Ceremony (Rico attending?) PhilCon Philadelphia, PA, USA November 19-18, 2007 (Rico attending) Norwescon Seattle, WA, USA March 20-23, 2008 Phillip K. Dick Award Ceremony Sci-Fi-London London, UK April 30 - May 4 Arthur C. Clarke Award Ceremony Nebula Award Ceremony Austin, TX, USA April 25-27, 2008 This is not a convention WesterCon Las Vegas, NV, USA July 3-6, 2008 Locus Awards Banquet So, our first realistic shot to cover an awards ceremony seems to be WFA, starting Aug 30. Perhaps I can attend there and come back with a blog report. I will eagerly await CW's report from Celebration Europe and use that as a model. Perhaps our first booth could be at PhilCon. It's close to me, I'll have a relationship with the organizers by then, and there is no award given out so it'll be low pressure. NorwestCon should have live coverage and all that. I hope we're ready by then. I can try to fly out there if we have the funds by then, and CW can join me by skype. The live feed may go up and down, but we'll have the whole thing recorde for podcasts, and that will be higher quality. I'm just blue-skying about March, but a man can dream, right?
