Regular Posts: 74 | Challenges missing so far: Member illegible_scribble does: 202X Books Read This Year 202X Big Fun in a Little Package Novellas Member charlesdee does: The Weirdness The WABC Machine Member Weesam does: Sub-Genre Challenge (which I used in lieu of Time Travel last year) I assume they just haven't gotten around to starting them for 2023. I'd be glad to post those if they don't.

Uber User Posts: 613 Location: New Zealand | Hi Finminer I don't roll over every one of my challenges every year. Normally I try to do something different every year (although I haven't come up with anything yet!). Feel free to post the Sub-Genre (or Time Travel) if you would like. Sub-Genre will probably have more takers as it has more scope.

Member Posts: 14 Location: Portland, Oregon | Please disregard my banner request. I don't think that there'll be much interest in this challenge other than myself given the time constraints. Thank you.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 556 Location: Great Lakes, USA | Can you put the flaming jack-o'-lantern banner on this year's Halloween Challenge (hope I didn't put it in twice) and add one for the other challenge I put it for September? I think this one was done before, so there might be a banner already made. I don't remember what it looked like. Or you can make a new one if you like. Thanks! Member Posts: 36 Location: Windsor, Ontario | Hi, I just initiated the David Drake Memorial Military SF Challenge. I re-read the second sentence wording and it's not clear enough can you correct it to read: "Try to read at least one third from WWE's Baen Reader's List of Recommendations and/or from David Drake himself." I'll leave it to you to find a kick ass image for the banner. Thanks so much.

You might want to add something about Drake's status in the MilSF world to flesh out the memorial part of the challenge description.

Member Posts: 36 Location: Windsor, Ontario | Thanks. You are right, I think it needs a bit more. ------ David Drake was an icon in the Military Science Fiction world. He wrote some of the most influential fiction in the genre. His work was honest, gritty, and it touched the lives of many readers and writers. If you have never read any of his books, make it up to yourself and join this challenge. From the TOR website: https://www.tor.com/2023/12/11/military-science-fiction-author-david...
