I apologize for the sidetrack, but I'm posting in this thread because I figure a lot of people are subscribed and will see it.

I've been asked whether there is a book with the same plotline as The Truman Show. Wikipedia says it was based on a Twilight Zone episode called "Special Service" , but I would swear there's an SF story or novel with a similar plot -- but darned if I can think what it is. Could I get any help from some of you SF bright sparks?

I thought I was based on something by Dick. It seems so much like something he would write.

These three are now in. Booklist, lambda award, his name being thrown around in the same sentence with Le Guin, Vance, and Delany. Interesting, indeed.

Something went wrong (Safari, I guess), but that's Liu Cixin - The Wandering Earth: Classic Science Fiction Collection, published in 2013 by the CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform.

A lot of those early 60ies eco-books by ballard are already in. Good reads, too.

My apologies for posting this in 2 threads, but I'd like to make sure as many people see this as possible...

Do you read a fair bit of SFF and would like to be able to express your opinions on what you read, in terms of nominating and voting for the Hugo Awards, but have not been able to afford to do so?

Because of the current concern that the Hugo process is too insular, a bunch of SFF fans have generously offered to provide supporting memberships in order to broaden the community of nominator/voters. These memberships include the right to vote this year (and the voter's packet of full or partial copies of nominated works) and the right to nominate (but not vote) next year.

The only requirement is that you be someone who reads and enjoyes SFF.

If you'd love to participate but money has been holding you back, you can find the entry form here .

Can someone add A Crown for Cold Silver by Alex Marshall. Released today from Orbit, it sounds excellent. Alex Marshall is evidently a pseudonym for a well known writer, possibly British.

Also, Ghost Train to New Orleans by Mur Lafferty, book 2 of the Shambling Guides. Book 1 is already in.

Thanks

Is it possible to add "The Awakened Kingdom" by N. K. Jemisin? It is a novella, and I'm not sure the site includes works in this category. It is a follow-up/sequel to the Inheritance Trilogy series by Jemisin.

Of course, of course; no worries. It's in.

The game is afoot, and now in the database. A trilogy completed (until she decides to expand it!).

Is it possible to add "Dream Houses" by Genevieve Valentine? It is a novella, and it's on Locus recommanded read for 2014. I read it and liked it.
