Synopsis
Nebula Award nominated short story. It originally appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, December 1975. The story can also be found in the anthologies The Best Science Fiction of the Year #5 (1976), edited by Terry Carr, The Best from Fantasy and Science Fiction: 22nd Series (1977), edited by Edward L.
