Synopsis
WFA winning short story. It originally appeared in the collection The Second Book of Fritz Leiber (1975). The story can also be found in the anthologies The Year's Best Horror Stories: Series V (1977), edited by Gerald W. Page, The World Fantasy Awards Volume Two (1980), edited by Stuart David Schiff and Fritz Leiber, and The Dark Descent: The Evolution of Horror (1987).
