First off, the falcons of the title appear once, late in the story, and disappear after that scene. The book might better be titled The Dreamers of Narabedla, as these people form the core of the story. It is a very nice blend of fantasy and science fiction.

A man is caught in a time travel experience where he has been transported far into the future and linked to a despotic and cruel master of enslaved 'dreamers' who provide and ensure his powers. The man of our times resolves the challenge of the future, both within the body of the future self and indedpendent of it.

The story introduces a lot of details and character points in obscured fashion, but doesn't resolve most of them until near the end as the story reaches its climax. The author does so very well, however, and the ending is satisfying, for the most part. That said, how the story started and why it ends as it does is not clear. I don't say more because it would spoil the ending.

Presumably, because of the time it was written, the story has lots! of! exclamation! points! Overall, not great, not bad.
