This rather dated story details the misadventures of a young space enthusiast who stows away on an experimental rocket which ends up stranded on the moon. Not the moon we were expecting, even in the 1950's, but a moon with massive underground chambers filled with breathable air and life.
The story is partially set in the time of competition between the USA and the Soviet Union, a fact which comes in to play as the story progresses.
Interesting only for the exceptionally off-beat imagination of what the moon would be like if it were like Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Otherwise, unremarkable and even farcical at times.
