The Name of the Star

At first I thought the book didn't really know what it wanted to be: a lighthearted fish-out-of-water story about a New Orleans teen attending school in London, or a crime thriller featuring a modern day Jack the Ripper? Once the author got things figured out, though, this became hugely entertaining, so much so that I finished it in one swoop. To be honest, not much seemed to be done with Rory's New Orleans backstory, but the supporting cast here is just delightful and unexpected.
