Diminishing returns on this YA level space adventure. It started off really great with mystery and intrigue, but unfortunately with each passing chapter I became less and less invested in the main character, finding him completely flat and uninteresting by the end. The corny humor was somewhat fun the first few times, but quickly became annoying with its overuse. I would recommend this book to fans of movies like Armageddon and Independence Day. I'm glad that I was able to finish it for the sense of accomplishment that I felt, like finishing all of your lima beans, but I now need a palate cleanser...
