The Terror

Read for my February 2022 Mini-challenge "Short Month, Long Book." I will read books 500+ pages for this challenge.

I, like many people, saw the AMC mini-series this book was based on. The mini-series, is not a great reflection of the book, which is much more mystical than the mini-series was.

Is there any word in the English (and Inuit if I'm being honest here) language that Dan Simmons didn't try to use in this book? It was incredibly bloated at over 700 pages. The same story could have been told, in a tighter and much more intense way, if about 250 to 300 pages were shaved off this story.
