Ok, I swung between a 3 and a 5 for various reasons and settled on a four. Let's get the criticisms out of the way. WTF was that ending??!! Too much of a cliff hanger. I thought I may have missed something! Next criticism. There are two things that I obsess on mistakes over. One is medical issues. I am a physician so I watch for those things. The other is firearms. I am from the south and was raised around hunting and firearms all my life. Do not write about something if you have no knowledge of it. Get some education before you commit pen to paper or risk making yourself look like a fool. Mr. Wellington should take this advice to heart. #1. a Glock does not have a safety switch you can click on and off. #2. One does not hunt deer with a .22 caliber rifle! #3. A clip is not a magazine and a magazine is not a clip. They are two distinct components and are not used interchangeably. Learn the difference if you are going to use that vocabulary.
Other than those points, I loved the book. High action, lots of gore and moves very quickly. I guess I will delve right into the third book. Laura is an ass kicker extraordinaire but I hate her self-doubt at times. Arkely is an ass-hole. Dispend belief and settle in for a rollicking good vampire adventure.
As other people have said, If you go into this imagining vamps to be sparkly, love addled teeny boppers then you are likely to need therapy after this series!
