Lord Foul's Bane

I do not like this book. I find the character of Thomas Covenant to be a completely unlikable character, the ultimate "Anti-Hero". He does unspeakable things in this book. So if I feel this way about the character, how can I give it 5 stars? Simply, that only an exceedingly well written book could ever extract so much emotion towards a character. And in this, Stephen R. Donaldson has been so successful. He brought out passion in me, even if it was passionate hate, and for this the novel deserves 5 stars!
