So far I have read the first four Odd Thomas books and I feel this is the weakest of them. The story starts really well with a chase sequence. Throughout this you have no idea where the story is going and I found this fun to read and imagine.
The main body of the story is about a hostage situation in the middle of a desert in an abandoned very large building, some of this was not easy to comprehend and there was little in the way of the great Odd Thomas things I really like namely ghostly happenings, feeling, apparations all these type of things. As with a lot of Dean Koontz characters some of them are like nothing you will ever encounter but he has a way of making them so gloriously readable.
Definitely huge fun with some very nasty things happening. This is very Dean Koontz and though not as good as others, it is worth reading.
