A wonderfully funny pseudo-biography of Woolf's lover Vita Sackville-West who lives from Elizabethan times to the Roaring Twenties, scarcely aging at all. Along the way Woolf satirizes high society, literary society, gender relations and much else. To round it off she supplies the beauty of her own inimiitable prose and her insights into the layered and shattered nature of conciousness.
