I am very happy that I read this book. The author of Memory of Water, Emmi Itaranta, has an amazing command of language. There were many times that I was shook by the metaphors she uses to speak of life and death, of secrets and knowledge.
"There is a distance between us that I can never cross, the distance of time and change and irreversible endings, the past that never shifts its shape. Because I cannot bridge the ravine, I must walk along its edge and let it be a part of my life, one of those shadow-filled cracks that I cannot deny and into whick I can never bring light."
