I can find no fault with The Yiddish Policemen's Union other than that I didn't enjoy it. My heart soared at some of the beautiful phrases and passages, all of which were more than competently put together to evoke a noir pulp mood with a high-literary flair. And yet I got so bogged down in it that I considered quitting several times.
This is an amazing book...for someone else.
