The Color of Magic

This was my first Pratchett ever! And god, I loved every minute of it. Before, when I'd tried Pratchett, I had this overwhelming sense of missing references to his other books, but I felt entirely comfortable for this one. I loved Rincewind - of course, Twoflower, Hrun and the luggage were great too, but Rincewind is so damn entertaining. Oh, and the little looks at Death were tantalising (I know he steps forward as a main character in some arcs).>
