An impressive metaphorical delight!

Monster mushrooms poison women and impregnate men. The fungus of impossible beauty ideals infect women and brainwash men in a small post-apocalyptic society. More than commenting on basic gender roles, this disturbing little tale places blame squarely on the society that perpetuates and prioritizes physical female beauty over human love and shared responsibility. I delighted in the fantastic truncated paragraph style, too. Nice and rhythmic.
