I haven't laughed this hard at a standalone novel in a good long time. Yeah, some of the writing was pretty rough, but the characters were wonderful and the sheer research put into every act was stunning. Definitely a fun read.
That said, I did listen to R.C. Bray's audio for this. My least favorite voice was probably Watney's, which was a real shame for a book primarily narrated by him. Bray does really solid work otherwise, though. His accents for the international cast were really solid. Overall a really solid performance.
