A fun little alt-history adventure-mystery
Synopsis: In an alt-universe 1969, a diverse group of talented scientists, spies, military special forces, and law enforcement officers are recruited by the Cross-Agency League of Intelligence Operatives (CLIO) to fight a mysterious entity which has, over the last 20 years, very sneakily embedded itself into the everyday life and technology of the United Kingdom--presenting a threat to all life on Earth.
What I thought: This is done very much in the style of the 60s pulp SF stories and TV serials (without the bonus sexism). It's a fun little adventure-mystery, and although it didn't knock my socks off, I quite enjoyed it--enough to to go pick up the $2.99 Kindle collection The Paradox Conspiracy, which is comprised of the two previous CLIO novellas Project Hades and Project Herakles.
