Akatsuki (an ordinary high school boy and incidentally the world's mightiest vampire) is finally getting used to daily life with Yukina Himeragi, the attack mage whose job it is to observe him. But his peaceful life is interrupted by the appearance of Dimitrie Vattler, an envoy from the European primogenitor known as the "Lost Warlord." Vattler's enough of a problem, but it turns out he's got his own watcher, who's friends with Yukina--and who wants Kojou dead. Worse, their arrival is only the prelude to the emergence of a dark conspiracy that threatens the entirety of Itogami Island!

Kojou and Yukina join forces with Natsuki Minamiya to protect Itogami City from a new threat from the skies--but even Kojou's Beast Vassal can't take this new foe on, and who should rescue them from their predicament but Kojou's sister's friend, a silver-haired girl named Kanon Kanase! But when Kanon disappears, Kojou and Yukina may find that there are some problems not even the world's mightiest vampire can solve!

Itogami Island is abuzz with preparations for the Halloween festival, and who should be visiting for the occasion but Kojou Akatsuki's friend from elementary school, a girl named Yuuma Tokoyogi. But as Kojou reunites with his friend, his homeroom teacher, Natsuki Minamiya, goes missing! Meanwhile, a strange space-time distortion is turning the sanctuary of Itogami Island into a labyrinth from which escape is impossible. And what's behind the physical changes that come over Kojou whenever he has physical contact with Yuuma?

When Kojou Akatsuki went to visit his sister in the hospital in middle school, he met a vampire named Avrora. Once he learned she was the key to saving Nagisa's life, he helped Avrora escape. Now, the weapons dealer Zacharias is telling him to hand over Avrora in order to rouse the fourth primogenitor! As Zacharias's plans plunge Itogami Island into peril, the fourth primogenitor finally awakens...

Blue Elysium is a newly constructed, additional manmade isle off the Demon Sanctuary of Itogami Island: the latest, greatest resort, boasting pools, and an amusement park! Yaze schemes to invite Kojou and the others to the isle before its public opening, but somehow the "free" trip lands Kojou in a horrid part-time job.

Meanwhile, Sayaka Kirasaka, Shamanic War Dancer of the Lion King Agency, visits Blue Elysium as well. Her mission: to rescue the mysterious girl Yume, held captive inside a research facility. The mastermind behind this series of incidents is the self-proclaimed Demon Sanctuary Destruction group, Tartarus Lapus. Nagisa is still suffering spiritual fatigue due to the awakening of the soul of Avrora. At this time, she meets a strange girl who goes by the name December. Kiriha forms an unlikelyalliance with Shizuri, who is dead set on avenging her friends. There's a celebration to be had in the kingdom of Aldegia, and Princess La Folia invites Kojou to join in the festivities. Reluctantly accompanied by Kanon, he travels to the royal palace for the signing of a peace treaty between Aldegia and the Warlord's Empire. Not all are in favor of the agreement, and many hold their breath in anticipation of violent opposition. Unfortunately, these fears are realized when a large-scale terrorist plot brings a deadly monster to the heart of the nation, and as luck would have it, Kojou gets caught up in the chaos!

After quashing the rebellion in Aldegia, Kojou and his friends return to Itogami Island to find that, during their short absence, the status quo has violently changed! The Gigafloat Management Corporation has been hijacked, and war brews among the demons for control of the territory. Once again, the Fourth Primogenitor is drawn into the heart of the conflict, all while the perpetrators' true intentions remain unknown!

With the arrival of the Primogenitors, the Electoral War for Itogami Island plunges further into chaos. Shio and Yuiri head to the island intending to use Twelth Primogenitor, Avrora, to put an end to the conflict, only to come face to face with Second Primogenitor, Fallgazer. While Yukina rushes to the island to save the three, elsewhere Kojou is suddenly overcome by inexplicable hunger and thirst, which is apparently tied to the Beast Vassals that resonate with the Primogenitors. Just what will Kojou have to do to regain his strength and stop the Beast Vassals' rampage?

Kojou has finally defeated the Blood, but with Ren abducting Avrora and fleeing to another world, there's no time to celebrate. And with Kojou's vampiric powers gone, staging a rescue seems impossible... until the First Primogenitor, Ki Juranbarada, shows up with a striking proposal and a tempting offer--a new set of Beast Vessels. But when Juranbarada's gift transforms Kojou into a monster devoid of reason, it's up to Yukina and company to find a way to save him before it's too late!

To close the Keystone Gate and seal the portal to Nod, the Japanese government calls for the destruction of Itogami Island, dispatching Yukina and Natsuki to the bottommost layer of the structure. But when the time comes for her to pull the trigger, Yukina wavers between following her orders and saving the island she loves.
