The Gods of Riverworld

After such a promising beginning, it's a shame just how far the sequels plummeted. Readers would be best to stick with the original novel To Your Scatterd Bodies Go, and skip the sequels entirely. Or, at most, read the The Dark Design, volume 2, if you absolutely cannot tear yourself away from Sir Richard Burton and Samuel Clemens.

Under no circumstances do you want to descend as far as Riverworld and other stories. I did, and barely escaped with my sanity (yes, my sanity, my Precious!)

My rating system: I begin with one star being equivalent to a rating of "C -". Progressing upwards, I add ½ star for each step, up to the maximum 5 stars, which is equivalent to a rating of "A"+. I reserve ½ star for BOMBS, there being no option of zero or negative stars.
